- Start chatting. However, without a registered account, your chat time with characters will be limited. You can easily sign up by providing your email address, or through your Google or Facebook account.
How to create a character on Character AI
Creating a Character on Character AI is a simple process that can be done in two ways: Quick Creation or Advanced Creation. Let’s start with Quick Creation.
To begin, click on “Create a Character” under the “Create” tab on the left-hand side of the homepage. This will bring up the “Create a Character” screen, where you can design a Character in just three steps (with an optional fourth step).
The first step is to give your character a Name. This name will be used to identify the Character in chat and to help other users find them.
Next, you can create a Greeting. This is the first thing a character will say to you when you begin a new conversation with them.
In the third step, you can choose the Visibility level for your character. This determines who can communicate with your Character. You can set it to Public to make your character visible to others, Private to make it accessible only to you, or Unlisted to hide it from search results unless you share the link.
Optionally, you can also upload an Avatar, which is a picture that will appear next to your character. The image should have a square-aspect ratio, as it may be cropped into a circle in some situations.
Once you click “Create It,” you can start interacting with your character. You can always change these settings later as well.
