Zoom calls with Chorus.ai

With Chorus.ai, you can record the call in Zoom. You can download the Chorus App for Zoom. This app lets you add Chorus to a live call, record the meeting, and take notes without leaving Zoom. However, you must verbally obtain consent from your customer to record before doing so, as per local privacy laws. If the customer does not consent, recording the meeting is prohibited.

To troubleshoot the Chorus App for Zoom, follow these steps:

  • Open Zoom SSO via Okta
  • Click on Settings, then Zoom Apps
  • Ensure “Zoom Apps Quick Launch Button” is turned on
  • Open a Zoom meeting on your desktop app. You should now be able to see Chorus App and utilize the tool.

Understanding the “Livestreamed” notification in your meeting

The “Live on Zoom with Chorus.ai” banner displayed during your meeting is managed and set by Zoom, which means that neither GitLab nor Chorus can modify the text.

This notification indicates that Chorus.ai is actively recording your meeting and will save it within the Chorus.ai platform for up to 90 days, as per GitLab’s Chorus.ai data retention policy.

To halt the recording of your meeting at any time, select the dropdown next to “Live on Zoom with Chorus.ai” and pick “Stop Live Stream”. Then, click the square stop icon to finish the recording.

Chorus.ai is a game-changer for sales teams

Chorus.ai provides an array of features that streamline sales calls, such as recording and playback options, enabling sales teams to improve their delivery and better articulate their value propositions. The platform allows direct feedback from clients and customers to be relayed to the team, ensuring limited information loss and increased alignment.

This has a significant impact on workforce and project management, task assignment, and overall enterprise productivity for sales teams. One of the most significant benefits is the ability to directly relay customer responses to product developers, without losing essential information in translation.

While some users have noted that Chorus.ai’s UX needs improvement and that it struggles with accurately transcribing multilingual conversations with accents, the platform continues to provide timely updates, adding capabilities and addressing bugs.

In summary, Chorus.ai is a game-changer for sales teams, improving efficiencies and effectiveness while providing essential insights for better sales performance.

Chorus.ai security and privacy controls for recorded calls retention

Chorus.ai has a data retention policy for recorded calls, which as of September 27, 2022, is set at 365 days. Any action that may go against this policy, such as retaining recordings beyond the specified period, downloading recordings, or preserving snippets of recordings in LevelUp indefinitely, requires approval from GitLab’s Legal team.

If you have unique circumstances that require you to keep a recording past 365 days, you can submit a Legal Issue – Chorus_Approval template and follow the instructions. To ensure that your requests are considered, you must submit them no later than 15 days before the end of the retention window. Snippets saved on playlists will be preserved, but those saved on the call will be deleted according to the retention policy.

It is best practice to require a password or set a link to expire every time you share a Chorus link. Additionally, mark any issue that includes Chorus recordings or customer information as Confidential. For more information, please refer to this issue and Chorus Compliance Resources.
